Tel/ Fax: 03-6189 8131 Mobile: 012-2549578 It was her double-layer batik technique that clinched the first prize in the inaugural Piala Seri Endon 2003. Masrina's love affair with batik began in high school in Terengganu. Studying architecture at the University of Nebraska didn't dampen her love for batik and she did art class in the summer to hone her creative skills. Masrina decided to venture into batik business in 1990 when she met her husband, Azlan. Today the couple produce under the mantle of Ilham Cipta. But 2005 saw Masrina and her 30-member team producing batik for the new Roberta di Camerino collection (using more than 600 metres of it). Her creations were shown in Milan in September. Of the experience, she says, "We achieved the ultimate aim of the Malaysia Batik - Crafted for the World movement, but we still have a lot to learn about high-end production." Masrina hopes to continue the collaboration with Roberta di Camerino.
