The Managing Director and chief designer of Khadani Sdn Bhd, Encik Abdul Kareem bin Said Khadaied has been involved in international batik sales since 1979. The company was established in 1982 to specialise in hand-drawn batik; it has since created several design trends. Encik Abdul Kareem was behind the pioneering move to create batik shirts for Malaysian men in 1983. Today, Khadani's clients include the Malaysian royalty and dignitaries.

The creator of the Singapore dress shirts for the Singapore Government, Khadani was among the first to sell batik wear at the Malaysia Airlines in-flight shopping gallery. Since 1984, Khadani has exported Malaysian batik to major international stores in Europe, Japan and other Asian countries.
